One of the top attractions of the weekend's events are the lectures by each of our 4 headliner magicians. We work hard to get the very best. They're always great teachers as well as entertaining people. You can bank on having a ball and learning a lot from every one of them!
We have evening shows on Fri & Sat night. Find details on the Evening Shows tab.
These shows are included in your registration, and are the only events the public can buy tickets for: $20 in advance or $25 at the door. All seating is general - however the front 2 rows are designated for the public, on a first come basis.
On Saturday morning we get to see at least 3 of the headliners perform close-up shows genuinely close up. Us attendees split up and gather around tables in 3 different rooms, then the performers rotate around doing their 15-20 minute set in each room.
On Sunday we bring our headliners together on stage to talk about magic topics of their choosing, as well as topics you bring up. A moderator guides the way through this chemistry of thoughts.
Dealer's tables are $75 + adult registration. We'll be joinged by Roy Kueppers' custom coins, Loren Pankratz's books, Robert Rameriz, Astoria's Magic Shop, Mark Barrett, Dave Emory, & Richard Kennedy.
Reserve a table by contacting PortlandMagicJam@yahoo.com
(As of March 7 there is 1 table left, out of 8.)
This is "parlor magic", with each person getting up to 5 minutes. By parlor we mean standing up with no magic happening flat on a table that the 3rd row can't see. (Though a table can be used to place props, like cups and balls.)
Limited to the first 10 sign ups, and as of March 7 all slots are filled. But we will accept 2 standbys. Contact: Richard Kennedy.
JOHN CARNEY will be doing an extra-fee workshop on Sunday afternoon @ 1:15pm. Follow the link for more info.
In recent years we've had workshops by Asi Wind, Banachek, Richard Osterlind, Rocco, Jonathan Levit, & Robert Ramirez.
This is the heart of the weekend for many. In-between events, during meals, & late at night people can informally gather and share their hobby in this sea of kindred spirits. People find space in the venue room, the atrium, the restaurant, and in their hotel rooms. PMJ veterans please make the new folks feel welcome in this setting!
On Sunday anyone is welcome to bring any magic they want to sell or swap. We'll have plenty of table space for people to set things on. There isn't a particular start or stop time - just set your stuff out!
Share this around as you please!
