One of the top attractions of the weekend's events are the lectures by each of our 4 headliner magicians. We work hard to get the very best. They're always great teachers as well as entertaining people. You can bank on having a ball and learning a lot from every one of them!
We have evening shows on Fri & Sat night. Find details on the Evening Shows tab.
These shows are included in your registration, and are the only events the public can buy tickets for: $20 in advance or $25 at the door. All seating is general - however the front 2 rows are designated for the public, on a first come basis.
On Saturday morning we get to see all 4 headliners perform close-up shows genuinely close up. Us attendees split up and gather around tables in 3 different rooms, then the performers rotate around doing their 15-20 minute set in each room.
On Sunday we bring our headliners together on stage to talk about magic topics of their choosing, as well as topics you bring up. A moderator guides the way through this chemistry of thoughts.
Dealer's tables are $75 + adult registration. We'll update this when next year's event starts to come into place. Dealers included Roy Kueppers custom coins, TrickSupply, Robert Rameriz, SingletonFX, Loren Pankratz's books, Greg Rostami, and Mark Barrett. Questions: PortlandMagicJam@yahoo.com.
This is "parlor magic", with each person getting up to 5 minutes. By parlor we mean standing up with no magic happening flat on a table that the 3rd row can't see. (Though a table can be used to place props, like cups and balls.) As of 3/17 all 10 slots are filled. Email Richard Kennedy with questions.
The 2023 contest may be Close-Up magic.
On Sunday afternoon the headliners can sometimes offer extra-fee private workshops. They will choose the minimum & maximum # of attendees, as well as the specific time to hold them. In the recent past we've had workshops by Jonathan Levit, Robert Ramirez, Richard Osterlind, Rocco, Asi Wind, & Banachek. Information on upcoming workshops here.
This is the heart of the weekend for many. In-between events, during meals, & late at night, people gather together and share their hobby in this sea of kindred spirits. People gather in the venue room, the session room, the restaurant, and in their hotel rooms. PMJ veterans please make the new folks feel welcome!
Share this around as you please!
