One of the top attractions of the weekend's events are the lectures by each of our headliner magicians. We work hard to get the very best. They're always great teachers, as well as extremely entertaining people. You can bank on having a ball and learning a lot from each and every one of them!
We have evening shows on Fri & Sat night. Find details on the Evening Shows tab.
These shows are included in your registration, and are the only events the public can buy tickets for: $20 in advance or $25 at the door. All seating is general - however the front 2 rows are designated for the public, on a first come basis.
On Saturday morning we get to see all 4 headliners perform close-up shows genuinely close up. The attendees split up to gather around tables in 3 different rooms, and the performers rotate around doing a 15-20 minute set in each room.
On Sunday we have our headliners together on stage to talk about issues of their choosing, as well as topics you bring up. A moderator guides the way through this chemistry of thoughts.
The list of this year's dealers were to include Jeff Prace's PLAIN SIGHT MAGIC, Cosmo Solano's SPECTRUM PLAYING CARDS, LOUIS FOXX magic, SINGLETONFX, Robert Ramirez, Dave's Killer Magic, and 2 estate sales - one boasting over 150 MAGIC BOOKS!
The tables were all sold out, and we're hoping these folks will join us when we reschedule. For future reference, the cost is $50 + registration. Email PortlandMagicJam@yahoo.com.
This is "parlor magic", with each person getting up to 5 minutes. By parlor we mean standing up with no magic happening flat on a table that the 3rd row can't see. (Though a table can be used to place props.) Email us if to get one of the 10 spots: firstname.lastname@example.org,
On Sunday afternoon the headliners can sometimes offer extra-fee private workshops. They will choose the minimum & maximum # of attendees, as well as the specific time to hold them. In the recent past we've had workshops by Jonathan Levit, Robert Ramirez, Richard Osterlind, Rocco, Asi Wind, & Banachek. Information on upcoming workshops here.
This is the heart of the weekend for many. In-between events, during meals, and late at night, people gather together and share their hobby in this sea of kindred spirits. People gather in the venue room, the session room, the restaurant, and in their hotel rooms. Veterans please make the new folks feel welcome!
